17th of May at Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri
The tradition of celebrating the 17th of May at Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri runs deep. The famous Battle of the Square on 17 May 1829, which ultimately led to the lifting of the ban on celebrating Constitution Day, took place right outside our doors. Ole Josef Møller, who owned Grensen 1 in the mid-1800s, was also one of the key figures in the fight for the right to celebrate our Constitution Day.
This year we have the following seatings:
14:00 – 17:30 (1st and 2nd floor)
No table reservations in the courtyard or at Gamla – walk-ins only.
